What is the difference between working out and training?
The terms are commonly used interchangeably but a distinction may be drawn between the two by understanding the purpose of exercise. If it is planned, organized, progressive and in service of a goal then it is training. Otherwise it is merely a workout.

What are the benefits of having a personal trainer?
There are many. Different people will use a trainer for different reasons. Initially form correction is almost unanimously indicated. Judiciously applied carrots and sticks provide accountability while the habit of training is ingrained. Tailored programming and nutrition advice ensures progress and removes the guesswork.
-
Am I too old and out of shape to start working out with a trainer?
I doubt it. If you can walk or wheel yourself into a gym, then you should.
-
I had an injury a while back that makes it difficult to do lots of activities but I want to be in better shape, can you help?
Yes. Most humans, including most of my clients, and myself are managing the effects of being a human with a body. Any exercise can by modified or substituted altogether in favor of something more appropriate to your circumstances.
-
Why is working with a personal trainer better than going to a group fitness gym?
Maybe it isn’t. Maybe you like doing random exercises with random people.
-
How many times a week would be optimal to work with you?
Two full body training sessions a week is about as bare bones as a strength program can be, but for that to work it needs to be in the context of an overall dialed-in lifestyle. Three days in the gym and a couple of varied aerobic training sessions can garner serious progress. Four days in the gym is burgeoning on the elite. I am happy to work with you up to six days a week if your circumstances allow.
-
Could you train me and my wife or my best friend at the same time?
The more the merrier. Up to three. More than that I start to feel like a lion tamer and worry that I’m wasting your time and money.
